Steph's Family

This poor family! They have been waiting for a while to view their images! We've been so busy at the studio lately that the blog has been neglected.

Stephanie's family visited Pittsburg during the Thanksgiving holiday from Western Kansas. We were lucky enough to get GORGEOUS weather and the lighting was perfect! This group was a fun one - a little camera shy at first, but they adjusted quickly. I found out during the session that Stephanie's sister had just signed on to play for PSU's basketball team, so congrats to her!

Melissa + Chad = Married

Melissa and Chad - the last in the Bugni clan to get married! We've had three Bugni weddings in the last year and a half: Jennifer & Ira (who recently had a new little boy - congrats!), Haley & Shawn, and now Mel & Chad. They had an absolutely beautiful wedding at the First Christian Church on Centennial and and equally beautiful reception at Mirza Temple. We've photographed a lot of weddings, but as far as attendance goes, they are near the top of the list. That church as packed! I think all of Pittsburg and Frontenac's residents were there...

Bethany + Eric = Married

Kristina traveled to Emporia the night before Eric and Bethany's wedding to take part in the rehearsal with her family (Eric is Kristina's brother). The rest of the crew (Mike, Mark, Mason, and Roylan) headed up later that evening. With the entire entertainment crew in tow including photography, videography, and DJ services, the boys headed out only to realize their trailer lights were not working. They quickly returned to the studio to fix the problem and, after many hours of trial and error without any success, the boys pared their equipment down to the very basics and shoved it into two cars. They finally rolled out of Pittsburg after midnight and were still up and raring to go early the next morning.

Everything was on time for Eric and Bethany's wedding, making the day stress-free. The couple had a beautiful ceremony and Eric's grin while Bethany was coming down the aisle was priceless. The following reception in nearby Olpe, Kansas was a blast. After the work was over, the FX Studios crew let loose and claimed the center of the dance floor. I think a good time was had by all. Congratulations from FX Studios!

Brodie = 2 Years

Esther Robison, owner of Robison Designs, a local wedding and reception decorator and one of our favorite venues, brought her grandson in recently for a photo shoot. Little Brodie is 2 and so adorable, especially in his John Deere outfit!

Brodie became instant friends with our new studio mascot, William Davenport, a kitty Mike found on a bike ride a few months ago. William has quickly become part of the FX Studios team and it's easy to see why...William is a crowd pleaser! I'm glad Brodie and William got the chance to bond. Enjoy!

Courtney = Senior

Courtney was a little shy at her senior photo shoot but Kristina got her to open up and they ended up with some amazing shots. I'm in love with the one above...and the cool brick background below...and pretty much all of them!

At the shoot, Courtney admitted that she had been anxious to get her senior pictures taken ever since she entered high school. That's a lot of pressure! I hope we came through for you, enjoy the images!

Jaimee = Senior

This was Jaimee's second photo shoot of three. The first was an outdoor session so we switched things up this time with an in-studio session. Jaimee brought some props to play around with during the session. Kristina got some unique shots with Jaimee's keyboard and, apparently, Jaimee is a big Raiders fan as well. She admitted that things get a little heated at times with her mom who is a huge Chiefs fan.

Holly + Matt = Married

Mike and Marissa recently traveled to Kansas City to photograph Holly and Matt's wedding, and as you can tell, the weather was beautiful! The leaves turned early this year and these two picked the perfect date to capture the fall colors. 

The weather wasn't the only beautiful part of their wedding. You will see in the slideshow that Holly and Matt and their families are very happy, optimistic people. Their day was filled with laughter and joy, and I'm sure it will be a memorable event for many years to come.

Morgan + Mike = Engaged

Morgan and I go waaaay back in a business kind of way. I remember video taping her play softball when she was still in high school years ago. FX Studios was just getting started on the way to hitting it big and we were doing the PHS Softball highlight video. It's hard to believe we can fast-forward that many years and see her getting married now. 

Mike and I hit it off immediately. As is usually the case I probably like him more than he likes me since I was the one pointing the camera at him for an hour the last time we saw each other. We've both got the same first name, so that's a pretty good way to start out as far as I'm concerned. I'm notoriously bad with names - while I can remember every face I've ever photographed I for the life of me struggle to remember the names of people I met five minutes ago. That shouldn't be a problem this time around. What can't all of the grooms just be named Mike? 

Morgan and Mike were awesome during the session. I had a little fun at Morgan's expense by trying to push her into some PDA while we were shooting on Broadway. She was a good sport and didn't have me beaten up so I'll probably give it a go on the wedding day. They are both a little nervous about being the center of attention on their big day, but I tried to reassure Mike that no one will notice him anyway with Morgan standing next to him at the altar. I always tease the guys on the wedding day while we are shooting pictures. We go through all the trouble to pose the bride as well as we can and I usually say 'just insert groom here'. It's always good for a cheap laugh.

Jessica + Brian = Engaged

For Jessica and Brian's engagement session, Kristina shot at Jessica's parents house. The place was absolutely gorgeous as was the weather that day.

Brian acted a little intimidated by the camera but he was a pro in the end and the pictures turned out great. Enjoy!

Kayle + Eric = Married

Kristina and Marissa shot this Oronogo wedding recently. Despite rain in the morning and Kristina being under the weather, the images are gorgeous. It's easy with a gorgeous couple like Kayle and Eric.

During their engagement session, Kristina had a hard time getting Eric to kiss Kayle. However, that didn't seem to be much of a problem during the ceremony when Eric laid a big one on Kayle. :)
