Jessica = Sweet Sixteen

We met Jessica at her uncle's farm east of Girard a couple of weeks ago for her Sweet Sixteen Session. I was so nervous for my first session like this years ago. I'd never heard of girls having their photos taken around their 16th birthday before, but after having photographed several of them over the years it's become one of my favorite sessions to shoot. It's really amazing how much the girls change between the time we photograph them at 16 and when they come back for the senior pictures.

Jessica's uncle had what amounted to a large photography playground for me to run around for an hour. My trusty assistant Roylan was foaming at the mouth since all he could do was hold the light and not shoot some himself.

Jessica had some awesome outfits and some great ideas. It was an excellent way to spend a Sunday Evening. Thank you for choosing us for your photographers this time around - we hope to see you next year!

Kim = Family

Annie and I drove to Webb City to meet up with the Kim family earlier this week. It looked like it was going to rain right before we were supposed to start shooting. Luckily, it only sprinkled a little on the drive over and we were able to get some great photos.

Last time we saw this family was during a Happy Hour session and the girls just were not interested in taking photos. They were all smiles this time. I think it helped that they didn't have to drive as far. Oh, and that their Grandma was there too seemed to help.

Emerson = 3 Years

Emerson visited the studio last week to mark her third birthday. This little girl is a ball of energy and was very fun to photograph. She had Annie and I laughing the entire session.

Her mom, Stacy, said she is 3 going on 30. It was very evident during the session. Whenever her parents would get close to watch what was going on she pointed for them to leave from her sight. Too cute!

Chelsea + Olivia + Reese = Sisters

What beautiful young ladies!

Chelsea and Olivia came to see us recently to capture their elegance in their pageant dresses. Their baby sister, Reese, even got to be in a few photos. I couldn't believe how big she had gotten.

The pageant was a first for Chelsea and Olivia. Not knowing what to expect, they were a little nervous. Luckily, the girls learned a lot and are looking forward to the next one.

Shelby + Abigail = Family

Meet Shelby and Abigail! Their mom and grandma drove them all the way from Altamont for their session.

These two are some of the most well behaved children I have photographed. They were so well behaved, in fact, that it was hard to get them to act goofy for a few photos with their Cowboy jerseys on. I asked who their favorite player was and, with a star-struck smile, Abigail informed me she is a huge fan of Tony Romo. Shelby doesn't really have a favorite player and is just a fan of the entire team. I bet these two get pretty rowdy on game day!

Colton = 1 Year Old

How cute is Colton?

Pretty darn cute, if you ask me!

Colton was quite the mover at his session. He hasn't started walking yet, but boy he can sure crawl fast! He crawls a little on his hands and knees, but when he really wants to get somewhere quick he army crawls on his belly.  His mom, Megan, was working up a sweat just trying to keep him in one spot.

All in all, the session went well and I can't wait to show Megan the rest of the images!

Molly = Model

 

Molly came to her session design consult with several outfits and ideas. She wanted a fun, model-like session. I knew it would be easy with her bubbly personality to give her just what she wanted.

Being that Molly is a huge Justin Bieber fan, I knew we could do some fun expressions. I had her dancing around and screaming as though she was at one of his concerts. I'm sure she felt like a goof ball, but we got some great shots.

I can't wait to show her the rest!

Elana = Prom Session 2010

Elana and Wade made it to the studio before their prom to take advantage of our Limited Edition Prom Session special we have running. The rain quit just in time for them to make it into the studio without ruining Elana's awesome hairdo. She looked absolutely stunning in her dress and Wade sported that brown tux with some serious style. 

Elana was selected as one of our Icons for our senior photography rep program. We've got her session coming up pretty quick and I'm really excited for it. She was a natural in the studio and I'm sure we're going to get a ton of awesome images for her. Check back then for all the goodness!

Chelsea = Prom 2010

Chelsea was one of the recent girls to take advantage of our latest promo (see the top post on this page) to get some great studio portraits of her in her prom dress. These shots definitely beat what you'd get taken at the dance! She had a wardrobe malfunction and had to get this dress off the rack just a day or two before the dance. I have to say she nailed it on short notice - she looked stunning! I hope you guys had a safe and fun prom. Let us know what you think in the comments!

Hunter = 1 Year

What an adorable little boy!

Hunter wasn't to sure about the whole taking pictures idea at the start of his session. He just gave me a blank stare and pointed at my camera as if to say "good luck." Little did he know, his parents brought his toy guitar along and he couldn't help but dance and laugh. Once the guitar lost it's effect, we recruited Grandma Dawson! As you can see, she had several tricks up her sleeve to coax a smile out of Hunter.

All in all, the session went well and everyone got an excellent workout chasing Hunter around the studio. I can't wait to see what they think of the images on Wednesday! Until then...
