Tina + Nic = Married

Any time I get to ride through a city SWAT-Style on the side of my Suburban is a good day to me. Thankfully, Tina and Nic's wedding gave me just that opportunity in Independence a couple of weeks ago during their awesome wedding. As you can see from the image above, they had several members in their wedding party. So many so that when they all tried to pile into the same limo to go around town for their pictures the weight alarm started screaming and we had to unload them from the limo and into our suburban to transport them around town. 

Naturally after we got the required number of groomsmen out of the limo there was no longer any room for me. Rather than waste any more time playing Musical Chairs I just hoped on the running board and let Kristina drive like a madman through the city until we got to our first spot. Everything was business as usual after that with a beautiful bride and a handsome groom. Thank you guys for letting us be a part of your wedding!

Angela + Wes = Married

Angela and Wess had an amazing wedding just a couple of short weeks ago in Pittsburg. I'm going to be catching some major grief that their wedding beat mine to my own blog. I'm sure Annie will be tapping me on the shoulder any minute wondering how something like this could even happen. That just shows the dedication I've got to our clients!

We're switching to abbreviated blog posts for the rest of the evening so I can get some of these posted for the world to see. These 20 hour days are starting to make me see things! Thank you guys for choosing us for your wedding. We're looking forward to hanging out with you guys again soon.

Cassie + Kody = Married

Ok, so I've been VERY behind in blogging the last week or so. Cassie and Kody are looong overdue for their facetime on the blog and I'm happy to be sharing them with you today!

They had an amazing wedding in Pittsburg a few weeks ago. Cassie could not have been more beautiful and Kody looked pretty snazzy himself. They had a gorgeous ceremony at Our Lady of Lourdes with a classy reception at the Country Club outside of town. The highlight of the evening for me was the time-traveling video from the brother of the groom. He must have spent weeks putting it together, and it had the whole group rolling.

We also had our first group portrait outside of a bar. Turns out the wedding party are regulars at 311 and the day just wouldn't have been complete without a drink at the old watering hole.

Trisha and Trevor = Married

 

Trisha and Trevor joined us in the studio last week to see the images from their recent wedding in Erie, Kansas. Trisha made for a beautiful bride and Trevor looked all-business in his tuxedo. It was a hot but beautiful day - hopefully the last of the 90 degree weddings of the year. It's beginning to feel a lot like fall, and as far as I'm concerned it can't get here any faster!

Sami + Chris = Married

Sami and Chris had a gorgeous wedding a few weeks ago in Pittsburg, KS. It must be the year for Northeast High Alumni to get married. I'm involved in 5 of them so far! 

Love is in the air...

I was growing anxious to show off all of the images to them at their Wedding Premiere at the studio. Our schedules finally matched up and we had them in last night for their viewing. One thing you can bet your paycheck on is that if there is lightning in the area it's only a matter of time until we lose our rural electricity. Sure enough, right in the middle of them placing their order the lights went out and the party ended. I was very happy they made it through their slideshow before we lost power. I'm certain Sami would have been huddled around one of the laptops running on battery power to finish seeing all of the images before she left last night. Thankfully it didn't come to that!Thank you guys for choosing us for your wedding photography. We loved sharing your day with you! Rebekah + Andrew = Married

Rebekah and Andrew tied the knot at a beautiful glass church inside Powell Gardens. It was my first time shooting there and I was so anxious to see all that it had to offer that I arrived an hour early. It ended up working out in my favor, though, because we had to walk a good distance to get to some of the garden beds.

Rebekah and Andrew were troopers. It was extremely hot and the humidity made it difficult to breathe. Long walks, foggy lenses and sweat motivated us to work quickly. I can't imagine what it must have been like in a wedding dress or tuxedo!
 
The reception was held at a hall within Powell Gardens. The family and friends definitely know how to party, especially on the dance floor and even after all that heat!

Jamie + Brandon = Married

 Jamie and Brandon tied the knot a few weeks ago on a scorcher of a day in Pittsburg. It was a great day marking only the second time I've photographed a wedding at the Newman Center at Pitt State. 

We only had a few moments with them for the outdoor portraits of the bride and groom, but we made the most of it with some awesome shots. It's easy to do good work when the couple are this much fun and in love. 

The thing I'll remember most about their wedding was the awesome first dance they had during the reception. They started out with your standard love song and slow dance and about 30 seconds into that they moved into a history of dance mix tape with everything from Elvis to Vanilla Ice. They were both busting out every move in the book and even had a toy box full of props like lei's and blow-up guitars. It was a blast and they had everybody rolling!

Abby + Caleb = Married

Abby and Caleb are a beautiful couple inside and out. I don't know that I've met a more laid-back bride and groom in all my years in business. They were perfect clients! We had an absolute blast with them at their engagement session and since we knew a bunch of the wedding party and family involved I knew the wedding day would be really enjoyable - and I wasn't disappointed!

The only thing I'm sure we'd all take back would be the excessive heat, but we managed to nail all of the formal portraits outside in less than 30 minutes. We ran into some fogged lenses for the first time in my career but we worked around that pretty easily. 

Abby made a gorgeous bride with a perfect dress, and I'm comfortable enough in my manhood to say it wasn't too bad looking at Caleb all day either.

I'm sure these guys will have a long and happy life together. We can only hope we'll be around long enough to see where life takes them. Good luck you guys - we hope you love the pictures! 

 



           

Jessica + Brian = Married

Jessica and Brian have had a lot of excitement in their lives lately...their recent wedding, Brian accepting a new job in California, and finishing the move the Sunday after their wedding. Luckily, they were pretty much moved before the wedding since Brian was already out there working and they just had to get a few of Jessica's clothes moved. Oh, and all the wedding presents!

The ceremony and reception went well. It was the transportation in between that made things interesting. Once we were ready to get in the limo to hit some outdoor locations, the driver informed us the radiator had a terrible leak. We had time for one location before the limo needed to get to the reception. Let me say...the wedding party made a smoking entrance to the reception!

Brandy + Jeff = Married

Brandy has been one of the most impressive bride's I've ever met. I'm short on all of the details, but I know this woman was one heck of a taskmaster for her wedding. She was involved in every aspect of designing and decorating her wedding and reception. She even made her own bouquet! I never advise our clients to take on that much work for their wedding, but she did it all and did it with a smile! 

Brandy and Jeff do know how to throw a party - the Mirza was bumping all night long and I can't imagine there was a person there that didn't have a blast.
